Adeline's Library

Adeline’s Library – February 2022

Each month Adeline will be sharing with you some of the books from her library! The photos above and links within the body of this post will take you directly to each books Amazon pages. There you can see other reviews and sometimes excerpts of the book. Each of these books is a favorite in our house for one reason or another. Below is our Mama/ Adeline review.

Tiny T. Rex an The Impossible Hug:
1. We found this book at the Asheville Museum of Science during a camp field trip exactly one week before the pandemic closed everything.
Mama: It is adorable! We have since purchased all of the Tiny T. Rex books. In this story, Tiny just wants to give his friend a hug, but his arms are too tiny. It is seriously so cute. We gift it at baby showers now.
Adeline: Enjoys taking the book jacket on and off and swiping the pages over all at once. She will love it in a year or so. She loved it before she could walk though. Now she thinks she’s in charge.

2.Check out the other Tiny T. Rex book too! Tiny T. Rex and the Very Very Dark. They go camping! I couldn’t just do one at a time. They are all great!

Good Night Farm
3. Mama: It’s a little dark on the pages, and harder to read in lamp light. An owl flies around and says goodnight to all the animals. I’m convinced this book is why she knows what a pig and a chicken are.
Adeline: Only turns to the baby chick page. It has a fuzzy yellow spot that she is OBSESSED with. She will sit for the entire book, but really she just wants to touch those baby chicks.

God Gave Us You
4. Mama: I cry. Every. Single. Time. There is always a small tear. This incredibly cheesy book somehow still has all the feels of the day we brought Adeline home from the hospital. Would recommend for baby showers, and young children who would be satisfied with a sweet sappy answer when they ask where babies come from. ***so many tears***
Adeline: Wonders why I’m hugging her so much after reading this. She points out the bears, but she doesn’t really get the point yet despite having a baby in the house. The colors and the polar bears make this book a win for her.

Shh! Bears Sleeping
5. This was our Imagination Library book a couple of months ago. We live in the mountains of WNC, so this book was so fitting for us!
Mama: I love it. We have the paperback version, and it includes bear facts at the back of the book, and tips to use while reading to your child. It takes you through a year in the life of bears, and is a cute yet factual bed time book. Perfect for anyone living in an American Black Bear Habitat.
Adeline: BEARS! MAMA! Bears! She might have another obsession. The artwork is a little fuzzy (in a cute way), so it took her a minute to realize what the black blobs were, but now she hunts this book down to show me all the bears and say “Shh, they sleepin”

Tiny T. Rex and The Perfect Valentine
6. Mama: I couldn’t not preorder the Valentine book after how much we loved the other two. This is a smaller board book, but it is about trying to make the perfect gift, and it not being exactly what you expect. Overall a sweet little gift purchase that has made it’s way into our collection
Adeline: She has just started pointing out hearts since the season of love started, so she loves looking at this “new” book that came out of the Valentine decoration box.
